C & T Celebrates I 78" x 78" This quilt is one of two commemorative quilts to celebrate C & T's first twenty years in business! The blocks were made by C & T authors and friends, and all feature a special black/white fabric silkscreened with C & T's logo that was designed specifically for the occasion. These are the finest quilt blocks I have ever assembled! There are over 70 quilt blocks in all in this commemorative collection; I am doing two quilt tops from half the blocks, and Sharyn Craig of San Diego is doing two quilt tops with the rest of the blocks. |
A Grandmother’s Quilt 40" x 48" (Top only pictured) This quilt is a joy to make for friends whose children are having babies! It is a "Grandmother's Quilt"—which means that it is to be kept only at the grandmother's house. It is meant to be used there; not hung on a wall or "saved" or put away as a treasure! Each 3" square has a different motif, cut from novelty fabrics; no two squares are alike (though some fabrics yield multiple motifs). Though it is made to celebrate the arrival of a new baby, it can also be a way for older siblings to interact with the new little one as he or she grows. Siblings often teach colors and shapes to the younger brother or sister, or make up guessing games or stories based on the characters pictured on the quilt. |
