Each lecture lasts about an hour and a half, and is usually followed by a lively Q&A session, so come with questions and enthusiasm!
A refreshing lecture (all quilts, no slides!) which is an inspiring view of what it means to be a quiltmaker in the 21st century. More than just how to store fabric and find time to quilt, this is a chance to take a look at "the big picture" of how quiltmaking fits into — and fuels — our lives. Many old and new quilts made by Margaret illustrate the lecture.
An invitation to sit back and appreciate who we are as quiltmakers, and dream some dreams of the quilts we want to tackle in the coming year. A humorous approach to accumulation of and attitude toward buying fabric, studio spaces, goal setting, and organization (or lack of it!).
A chance to put quiltmakers more at ease with their potential for exploring color and value in quiltmaking; presents specific color strategies to apply to future projects, or to revive current quilts in progress.
New hope for "tired old quilt blocks" or borderless quilt tops you may have stashed away; innovative ideas for manipulating and/or setting traditional blocks which make them "sing a new song." For quiltmakers of all levels of skill and experience. Encourages quiltmakers to "reach for the unexpected" with traditional or newly-designed quilt blocks, and shows many avenues for achieving refreshing results.
